



Cosmetology Course Objective
To train students and prepare them for State Licensing and entry into the beauty industry, with the accent on curriculum in all phases of cosmetology, leading to positions as hair stylists, hair color specialists, salon owner and manicurists.
Graduates, after hours of training, will receive diploma.
About the Cosmetology Course
The school is licensed under the Michigan State Board of Cosmetology and the courses meet the board's requirements in every way. The Cosmetology Course covers 1500 hours of instruction. During instruction, a student acquires a thorough knowledge of hairstyling, haircutting and shaping, permanent waving, shampooing, hair coloring, manicuring, facial and scalp treatments. The student also gains experience and practice serving patrons in the student beauty clinic. In addition to beauty training, students are given advice on personal grooming and instruction on personality development, as well as how to achieve poise and self-assurance. Broken down into hours, the Cosmetolgoy Course devotes 415 hours to theory classroom including lecture demonstration, visual aids and use of textbook, 955 hours of practical (practical classroom including laboratory work and applied clinic practice) instruction and 130 unassigned hours for special curriculum emphasis under the direct supervision of expert instructors.
We offer day classes as well as evening classes. Our day schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm. Evening classes are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. All cosmetology students are required to attend Saturdays upon completion of the Junior classroom (350 hours) 8:00am - 4:00pm.
